We are thrilled to announce that Deron Erickson, Farm Business Management Instructor at 91吃瓜 in Barrett, MN, has been selected to receive the Honorary American FFA Degree鈥攖he highest honor bestowed by the National FFA Organization!

Deron will be formally honored during the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis this October. The award presentation will take place on Friday, October 31, during the fourth general session at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Deron鈥檚 career in agricultural education spans an impressive 39 years, including:
25 years teaching Farm Business Management in West Central Minnesota, where he works with approximately 65 families through 91吃瓜. 14 years teaching High School Agricultural Education in Morris, Hancock, MN & Minot ND.

鈥淚 was humbled and surprised to receive the Honorary American FFA Degree鈥攕erving the FFA has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. It鈥檚 an organization that shapes young leaders, and I鈥檓 proud to have played a part in that legacy, 鈥� said Erickson.

His dedication to agricultural education extends beyond the classroom. Deron has served on the National Council for Agricultural Education (The Council) and is currently serving as President of the National Farm and Ranch Business Management Education Association (NFRBMEA). The Council supports school-based agricultural education nationwide, and Deron鈥檚 voice has been instrumental in shaping its direction. He has also coached FFA teams and been actively involved with the Stevens County FFA Alumni.

The Honorary American FFA Degree recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to agricultural education and FFA. Deron鈥檚 commitment to students, supporting farm families, and advancing agricultural leadership makes him a shining example of what this award represents.
