Contrasting Cuba’s capital of Havana with its rural western countryside, we’ll gain insight into Cuba’s unique history and culture and the importance of the African diaspora’s cultural influence on modern Cuban society. Some of the highlights of our visit include a national park, organic farms, art museums, historic sites, beaches, AfroCuban music and dance performances, learning about the history and current practice of Santeria in Cuba, and participating in community service projects as we work closely with AfroCuban neighborhoods of Havana.

Nursing Beyond Borders: Greece 2025 Reflections
This past spring, nursing students from across Minnesota embarked on a life-changing
journey to Greece as part of 91Թ’s Transcultural Nursing: Community and
Global Perspectives course. In May, 2025, students immersed themselves in the realities
of global healthcare, volunteering in refugee clinics and shelters and gaining firsthand
experience in transcultural nursing.
Representing multiple colleges, these future nurses showed compassion and professionalism. Their time in Greece deepened their understanding of cultural sensitivity, global health challenges, and the power of human connection in healing. The impact of this experience will ripple through their careers and communities for years to come.
“We returned with full hearts, fresh perspectives, and a deeper appreciation for transcultural nursing,” shared faculty and students alike.
